Christopher Ober, DVM, DACVR
Dr. Christopher Ober is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiologists. He joined the PetRays team of board-certified veterinary radiology specialists in 2008. Dr. Ober completed his undergraduate education at Wake Forest University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1999. At Wake Forest, he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He continued his veterinary education at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. While in veterinary school, he was inducted into the Society of Phi Zeta.
Dr. Ober completed a rotating small animal internship at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine from 2003 to 2004. He went on to complete a radiology residency at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine from 2004 to 2008. He was presented with the District of Columbia Academy of Veterinary Medicine Companion Animal Resident Clinical Teaching Award in 2008. In 2007, he was named a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology. His primary interests in the field of diagnostic imaging include musculosekeltal imaging and CT and MRI.
Dr. Ober has been published the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound on the subjects of visualization of wooden foreign bodies, the visualization of pulmonary metastases and venous air embolism. He is a member of numerous professional groups, including the Radiological Society of North America, the Veterinary CT/MRI Society, the Veterinary Ultrasound Society, the American College of Veterinary Radiology and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
In his spare time, Dr. Ober enjoys spending time with his wife, Sheri. They share their home with two cats, Phoenix and Sierra.
