Anne Bahr, DVM, DACVR, MS

Dr. Anne Bahr has been a member of the PetRays team of board-certified veterinary radiology specialists since 2007.

She completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry in 1988. She went on to attend the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Bahr was named a regent scholar at UC-Davis each of her four years there and was the recipient of the Robert Millman Radiology Fellowship in 1990, the George Hart Fellowship from 1990 to 1992, and the UpJohn Award for Proficiency in Small Animal Clinical Medicine in 1992. She was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1992.

Dr. Bahr went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at Cornell University from 1992 to 1993. From 1993 to 1998, she was a resident in radiology at both the University of Tennessee and Colorado State University. In 1996, she received the American College of Veterinary Radiology's Resident Authored Paper Award for "Quantitative Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy with Deconvolutional Analysis for the Measurement of Hepatic Function in Dogs" and the Radiology Resident Research Award for "Evaluation of Imagent US as an Abnormal Ultrasound Contrast Agent in Large Dogs." Dr. Bahr was named a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology in 1997.

Dr. Bahr was a lecturer at Colorado State University from 1997 to 1998 and received her Master's Degree from CSU in 1998. Later that year, she joined the faculty of Texas A&M University, where she served as a clinical assistant professor from 1998 to 2001, an assistant professor from 2001 to 2007, an associate professor in 2007, and as chief of radiology from 2004 to 2007. Her professional interests include cross sectional imaging (including CT and MRI) and nuclear medicine. She is a member of the American College of Veterinary Radiology, the Society of Veterinary Nuclear Medicine and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Bahr has authored more than 40 papers and book chapters on veterinary diagnostic imaging and is well-known as a national and international speaker in the field. She has worked extensively in the ACVR organization and has served as the chairperson of the certification examination board as well as on the executive board of ACVR.
